West Indies fined & docked two WTC points for slow over-rate against Sri Lanka

During the second Test against Sri Lanka in North Sound, Antigua, the West Indies maintained a slow over-rate, resulting in a fine of 10% of their match fee and a loss of two World Test Championship (WTC) points. After the hosts were found to be two overs short of the required rate after time allowances were taken into account, the sanction was imposed by ICC match referee Javagal Srinath. Article 16.11.2 of the WTC playing conditions mandates the deduction of one championship point for each over short, and Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct stipulates that players are subject to a fine of 5% of their match fee for each over their side falls short. West Indies lost two WTC points as a result. The offense and proposed punishment were accepted by Captain Roston Chase, obviating the need for a formal hearing. On-field umpires Paul Reiffel and Ahsan Raza, third umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, and fourth umpire Deighton Buttler, all filed the complaint.
