Voll Blasts Century as Australia Clinches 3-0 T20I Sweep
Australia cruised to a 3-0 T20I whitewash thanks to Travis Voll's explosive maiden century. Voll's powerful batting set up Australia's win, sealing the series in style.
Voll put together a masterful innings which included six sixes as Australia piled up 211, their highest T20I total since 2023 and fifth-best ever, and she joined Meg Lanning, Beth Mooney and Alyssa Healy as century-makers for them in the format. The next-highest score was Sophie Molineux's 25 off 12 balls at No. 8 as Australia's captain played her first part with bat or ball in the series.
West Indies Women struggled in the powerplay, losing three wickets, including a first T20I wicket for left-arm quick Lucy Hamilton. They were far behind the DLS target when rain interrupted play. The tour is now shifting to ODI mode, with a three-match series in St Kitts starting on Friday.
Voll had threatened something like this in the second match of the series before falling for 39 off 23 balls. This time she converted in style having gone to her fifty from 28 balls, needing just another 24 to bring up the century. The hundred came a month after setting her previous career-high with 88 against India in Canberra as she cements the role at the top of the order in the post-Alyssa Healy era.
Travis Voll was on ! Her power down the ground and through the leg side was unstoppable. She smashed sixes galore, including thumping drives and leg spinner-bashing shots. Voll's technique was solid too, though she did give a chance on 32. Her century came up quickly, slicing Deandra Dottin to deep third.
Australia had a few witches! Phoebe Litchfield's brisk start fizzled out, and Tahlia McGrath's struggles continued. She missed a drive against Shawnisha Hector's smart bowling, ending her chance to make a bigger impact. McGrath had been struggling with timing, and this time she had a decent chunk of overs to turn things around.
