Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Aaron George Shine as India Reach U19 World Cup Final

India made a record-breaking chase to secure their spot in the Under-19 World Cup final, defeating Afghanistan by 7 wickets. Afghanistan had set a challenging target of 311/4, thanks to centuries from Faisal Shinozada (110) and Uzairullah Niazai (101*). However, India's batsmen were on fire, with Aaron George scoring a brilliant 115 off 104 balls, Vaibhav Suryavanshi hitting 68 off 33 balls, and Ayush Mhatre contributing 62 off 59 balls. This was India's highest-ever chase in the U19 World Cup, surpassing New Zealand's 305-run chase against Ireland in 2006. George was dropped at mid-on but soon put that behind him, smashing boundaries with a minimum of fuss. His impeccable drives and impenetrable defence made his innings a treat to watch. The bouncer once again consumed Sooryavanshi, but Mhatre ensured none of the momentum was lost. He's not had the best of tournaments, but was at his best when it mattered. Mhatre's first two scoring shots were sixes and he followed that up with a four. George, meanwhile, reached his fifty off 52 balls and Mhatre soon followed suit, bringing his up in 43. Both George (20) and Sooryavanshi (22) were dropped early in their innings but they cashed in, and Afghanistan were left to rue their errors. The duo added 90 runs for the opening wicket off just 57 balls. Mhatre and George then put up a century-stand before Vihaan Malhotra and George all but sealed Afghanistan's fate. What a blast India had in that chase! Aaron George and Vaibhav Suryavanshi were on fire ! George's effortless flicks and Suryavanshi's aggressive shots had the Afghan bowlers scrambling. That opening burst set the tone for India's dominant chase. "Butchering at one end and precision at the other" sums it up perfectly. India will now face England in the final on February 6, marking their 10th appearance in the U19 World Cup final.
