Trinbago Knight Riders immortalise Dwayne Bravo, retire No. 47 jersey

Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) have officially retired the No. 47 jersey in honor of all-rounder and current head coach Dwayne Bravo, making him the first player in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) history to receive this distinction.

Historic First: The jersey retirement ceremony took place in Port of Spain prior to TKR's game against Jamaica Kingsmen, ensuring no TKR player will wear No. 47 again. Unmatched CPL Legacy: Bravo won five CPL titles as a player—including back-to-back championships as TKR captain in 2017 and 2018, and one as head coach in 2025.

Stats & Records: Across 107 CPL matches, Bravo took 129 wickets at an economy rate of 8.74, placing him third on the tournament's all-time wicket-takers list behind Sunil Narine (139) and Imran Tahir (135).

Tributes from Teammates: Current TKR skipper Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard, and Sunil Narine paid tribute to Bravo in a special video released by the franchise, honoring his role as a mentor, leader, and inspiration across Caribbean cricket.

Narine said, "I think you have paved the way for a lot of young cricketers. The way you care about yourself, your energy levels, and always wanting to win in everything."

And Kieron Pollard, who led TKR when they won the title in 2020 with Bravo in the line-up, said, "Thank you for all that you have done obviously for me personally as an individual, and then you know we're coming together as a force to be reckoned with, something that you always spoke about and being able to win championships and games and create an environment where people will enjoy."
