Towhid Hridoy determined to make mark in T20Is after struggles

Bangladesh batter Towhid Hridoy is hoping for a fresh start in T20Is after a tough outing on the recent tour.

Disappointing tour behind him

Hridoy struggled for form and impact in the last series, which he’s now looking to put behind him. He’s targeting the upcoming T20I matches as an opportunity to reset, regain confidence, and contribute more for Bangladesh. Hridoy wants to use the new format and games as a clean slate to show his abilities and bounce back.

The tourists avoided a clean sweep with a convincing victory in the final match and would be keen to carry forward the momentum in the T20I leg of the tour. Towhid Hridoy, who made his captaincy debut against Australia, will continue to lead the side as they will again be without regular T20I captain Litton Das, who has been granted leave to play in the Lanka Premier League (LPL).

Litton Das - calf injury

Litton is still recovering from a calf injury. It ruled him out of the home T20I series vs Australia and he has also missed the ongoing Zimbabwe tour. He’s also unlikely to play in the LPL. The left-arm pacer remains unavailable for T20Is after picking up a hamstring injury during the first ODI in Harare on the Zimbabwe tour.

Bangladesh are missing two key senior players with Litton sidelined by a calf issue and Mustafizur out with a hamstring injury, leaving gaps in both batting and bowling for the T20I matches.

"Conditions are very different here. The weather is a little bit cold here. Considering the wicket and opposition, everything makes it a different kind of condition. But as a professional player, adapting to it will be important," he added.
