Shadman Islam ruled out of South Africa tour with ankle injury

An ankle injury prevents Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam from participating in the upcoming South Africa tour. On the second day of the second Test in Sylhet against the West Indies, Shadman suffered an ankle injury.

One of the members of the selection panel stated, "He (Shadman) is ruled out from the South Africa tour." "He suffered a tear, and there is a possibility of a fracture as well," according to my knowledge.

In the current second Test at Sylhet, it is understood that Bangladesh will bat against West Indies with one man short. In the meantime, Mahfizul Islam Robin, the in-form opener for Mymensing, is expected to be included in the Test squad for the tour of South Africa. Mahfizul was hard at work getting ready with the national coaches in the nets while he was with the Test squad in Sylhet.

On November 10, Bangladesh will depart Dhaka for South Africa to play a two-match Test series followed by three One-Day Internationals and as many Twenty20 Internationals. From November 15 to 19, the Wanderers Stadium will host the first Test, and from November 23 to 27, SuperSport Park will host the second Test.
