Setback for Bangladesh: Nahid Rana sidelined from WI Test series with labrum tear

Injury Diagnosis: Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana has been diagnosed with a labrum tear following an assessment in Australia, where he received an injection and began his rehabilitation.

West Indies Series Out: The injury rules him out of the upcoming two-match Test series against the West Indies, starting October 28.

It marks another setback for the pacer, who had been working towards a comeback after being sidelined by a grade-two side strain sustained during Bangladesh's tour of Zimbabwe in July. The injury had forced him to miss the tour of Australia, the Asian Games and the one-off Test against Afghanistan. He then suffered a fresh injury to his glute during his rehabilitation, ruling him out of the tri-series in the UAE involving Afghanistan and Zimbabwe.

Doubt Over South Africa Tour: His availability for the subsequent Test tour of South Africa in November remains uncertain, though he could potentially return for the white-ball leg if he misses the Tests.

Injury Plagued Run: This adds to a frustrating period for Rana, who has already missed significant cricket this year due to a side strain sustained in Zimbabwe and a subsequent glute injury during his recovery.
