Sai Sudharsan Unfazed by Competition for Top-Order Spots in Indian Team

Player & Context: Sai Sudharsan (India Batter) — Speaking ahead of India A's one-day series against Australia A in Puducherry.

Focusing on Personal Journey: B Sai Sudharsan addressed the intense competition for top-order spots in the Indian national team, stating that players should focus on "writing our own story" rather than viewing teammates as direct rivals. Mindset & Divine Timing: The 24-year-old emphasized the importance of self-belief, patience, and trusting "divine timing" to navigate selection pressure and injuries.

Team-First Approach: Sudharsan stated he is not hyper-focused on securing a specific batting position or spot, but rather on performing consistently and putting the team in winning positions. Adapting Across Formats: Having spent considerable time in red-ball cricket and IPL T20s, he expressed excitement about transitioning back into the 50-over format against high-quality opposition.

"Four teams were competing simultaneously - Rest of India in Srinagar, India A in Pondicherry, the main [ODI] team in the West Indies, and another in the Asian Games," Balaji said. "It's good to have healthy competition. Players have space to work across three formats. The mindset should be to make the most of these ample opportunities, and those performing are getting their due."

Australia A Challenge: He noted that the intensity of "A" series matches closely mirrors international cricket, providing vital experience to understand pitch behaviors and different team cultures.
