Rajshahi Warriors Clinch BPL Title with Tanzid's Ton and Fernando's Four-For
Tanzid Hasan's blistering century and Binura Fernando's four-wicket haul led Rajshahi Warriors to a comfortable 63-run win over Chattogram Royals in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) final. Tanzid scored 100 off 62 balls, hitting seven sixes and six fours, and became the third batter to score a century in a BPL final. Fernando took 4 for 9, removing Mohammad Naim, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Asif Ali, and Shoriful Islam, while Hasan Murad took 3 for 15.
It was Rajshahi's batting that set the tone for the win. They got an early boost when openers Tanzid and Sahibzada Farhan added 83 runs for the first wicket in 10.2 overs. Farhan made a run-a-ball 30 with two fours and a six, but it was Tanzid who held Rajshahi's innings together. He added 47 runs with Kane Williamson, before reaching his third T20 century, off 61 balls. Tanzid struck seven sixes and six fours, before falling for 100 in the penultimate over.
Shoriful Islam claimed 2 wickets, taking his BPL tally to 26 wickets for the season. Mukidul Islam was Chattogram's best bowler, taking 2 for 20 from 4 overs. Binura Fernando gave Rajshahi a solid start, removing Mohammad Naim and Mahmudul Hasan Joy in the third over, and later took Asif Ali and Shoriful Islam's wickets, finishing with 4 for 9.
Rajshahi Warriors posted 174 for 4, with Sahibzada Farhan contributing 30 and Kane Williamson adding 24. In response, Chattogram Royals were bowled out for 111 in 17.5 overs, with Mirza Baig top-scoring with 39.
