Preparing for the Future: West Indies Names Athanaze and Carty to Lead 'A' Team Against England Lions

Leadership Roles: Alick Athanaze will captain the West Indies A T20 squad, while Keacy Carty will lead the one-day squad during the upcoming white-ball series against the England Lions.

Schedule & Venue: The tour runs from November 1 to November 16, consisting of three T20 matches followed by five one-day games, with all fixtures hosted in St Kitts and Nevis (across Conaree Cricket Ground and Warner Park).

Squad Focus & Strategic Objectives

One-Day Priorities: CWI director of cricket Miles Bascombe noted that the 15-member one-day squad is heavily focused on preparing for the upcoming ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier in February, with an eye toward the 2027 World Cup.

T20 Planning: With West Indies having already qualified for the 2028 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, the three-match T20 series will serve as an early testing ground to evaluate personnel and define player roles.
