Narine inspires TKR to much-needed victory with all-round brilliance

An all-round performance from Sunil Narine helped Trinbago Knight Riders snap a three-match losing streak with a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Barbados Tridents at Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain.

Spin Stranglehold: TKR's spin-heavy attack—which bowled 15 of the 20 overs—restricted the Tridents to a modest 127/9. Sunil Narine (2/14) and Usman Tariq (1/11) led the economical effort, supported by skipper Kieron Pollard (2/19).

Narine's Batting Heroics: Opening the chase, Narine smashed a 33-ball 55 featuring five sixes—his first T20 half-century in over two years.

Decisive Opening Stand: Narine teamed up with Colin Munro (37 off 26) for a 96-run opening partnership, putting TKR in complete control. Swift Finish: TKR chased down the 128-run target in 14.5 overs with 31 balls to spare, bolstering their position in the CPL standings.

Tridents' batters struggled to put the bowling away, with four members of the top five ending up with sub-100 strike rates despite facing 10 or more balls and the fifth, opener Zachary Carter, scoring 28 off 27.

The only real impetus came towards the end, with Tridents captain Chris Green hitting two sixes in a 17-ball 27 at No. 6, and Rivaldo Clarke hitting three fours in the last two overs to finish unbeaten on 15 off seven.
