Nabi still part of Afghanistan’s plans - Richard Pybus

Afghanistan head coach Richard Pybus feels that Mohammad Nabi still has something to contribute for his country in the shorter format of the game.

Nabi was dropped from the upcoming T20Is against Zimbabwe and many felt that it can well be the end of the experienced campaigner, though Pybus begs to differ.

Pybus stated on Wednesday, October 7, "I think Nabi's got something to contribute in the formats that he's available for."

He is a phenomenal cricket player who also takes great care of himself. He is very disciplined, and his performance in Afghanistan clearly stands out. He is highly regarded not only for his past actions but also for the professional manner in which he acts. He's very careful,” he said.

“In terms of his physical condition, despite the fact that he is a mature cricketer, he is actually in good shape, which was really encouraging to see. We get the data back when we're tracking the guys with the GPS and he held up really well,” he said.

He stated, "You know like any cricketer you've got to consistently perform, and he's as aware of that as anyone else, but I really do think he still has a lot to contribute." He was referring to the fact that he was a cricketer.

“I think the main thing as you get older is hunger and desire. He added, "I'm looking forward to working with him and I look forward to his career moving forward."
