Mentor's Praise: Yuvraj Singh backs Abhishek Sharma as future leader and ODI fixture

Endorsement for ODI Selection: Yuvraj Singh strongly advocated for Abhishek Sharma's inclusion in India's 50-over (ODI) setup, arguing that failing to integrate high-performing explosive talents like Abhishek, Ishan Kishan, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi into ODI cricket does a disservice to their potential.

Leadership Potential: Yuvraj highlighted Abhishek’s maturity and on-field traits, noting that captaining an IPL franchise would be the ideal stepping stone for him if he aspires to lead India in the future.

“Golf helps with the bat swing and head position a lot. The top hand, which in Abhishek’s case is the left, gets extended, and that helps with the swing. It also helps with temperament. In golf, you tend to make mistakes, but you also learn to make course corrections. So it can help minimise mistakes and build concentration, which should come in handy in cricket too,” says Kiran More, a habitual golfer, explaining how the sport could be helping Abhishek.

Path to Consistency: While acknowledging Abhishek's dominance in T20Is, Yuvraj stressed that he must be given regular opportunities in 50-over cricket leading up to the World Cup to fully showcase his adaptability.

All-Round Development: Yuvraj also pointed out that further refinement in his bowling and fielding contributions will help cement his credentials across formats.
