Marsh, Head to miss Bangladesh ODIs

Josh Inglis will continue to serve as the interim captain while Australia is without Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head for the upcoming ODI series against Bangladesh. After initially being selected only for the Pakistan one-dayers, Oliver Peake and Matt Short have been retained for the Bangladesh One-Day Internationals.

Todd Murphy, the off-spinner who has only featured in Tests so far, has also been included. He takes Tanveer Sangha's place after the leg spinner suffered a hamstring injury in the second One-Day International in Lahore.

Head was initially selected for both the ODI and T20I matches against Bangladesh, according to national selector Tony Dodemaide, but he has been granted personal leave for both. Marsh, on the other hand, will join the group in Dhaka to prepare for the T20Is despite missing out due to an ankle injury that he did not recover from in time.

Ben Dwarshuis and Xavier Bartlett join the team in place of Billy Stanlake and Riley Meredith. Meredith will return to feature in the T20Is. The ODI team does not have the usual amount of experience because Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood are already out, but Inglis hopes this gives opportunities to the younger players.

Inglis stated, "It's a great experience for them." "I said that to Ollie Peake - 'You don't get harder conditions for an Australian than these, really'. We are so numb to it. Even though this is probably my fourth visit to Pakistan, it is still extremely difficult for me to return here.

"So, I just told him just to take it all in. In these conditions, I think a lot of the guys are still learning their game plans and how to deal with things like reverse swing and spin.

The 19-year-old Peake impressed with his 31 from No.7 in the second Pakistan ODI, showing promise in a low-scoring series where the highest total across three games was 231/9.

The first ODI will be played on Tuesday (June 9) in Dhaka, with the subsequent games at the same venue on the 11th and 14th. The T20Is will follow from June 17.
