Left-Arm Spinner Matthew Humphreys Recalled to Ireland ODI Squad for Namibia Tour

Squad Recall: Left-arm orthodox spinner Matthew Humphreys has been recalled to the Ireland ODI squad, marking his return to the 50-over setup for the first time since February 2025.Strong Domestic & T20 Form: Humphreys earned his selection following impressive bowling performances in recent T20 matches (including standout spells in the European T20 Premier League).

Tour Objectives: The multi-match series against Namibia forms a core part of Ireland's build-up and preparation roadmap targeting the 2027 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier.Traveling Squad: Led by captain Paul Stirling and vice-captain/wicketkeeper Lorcan Tucker, the balanced squad blends senior mainstays like Andy Balbirnie, Harry Tector, and George Dockrell with emerging options.

Six Ireland players - Lorcan Tucker, Harry Tector, Ross and Mark Adair, Curtis Campher and George Dockrell - were recently picked at the ILT20 auction as the result of an agreement between Cricket Ireland and the Emirates Cricket Board, with the tournament due to start on November 21.

Barring Andy Balbirnie and Andy McBrine, the rest of the squad for the Namibia ODIs will travel to Zimbabwe for the Wolves tour. Mark Adair will also join for the red-ball leg, while the five other ILT20 players will have a short rest before travelling to the UAE.

Josh Little, who has struggled with form and fitness in recent years, is another notable inclusion in the Wolves squad for the one-day leg of the Zimbabwe tour. Humphreys will captain the Wolves throughout.
