Kingsmen seal win as rain interrupts Knight Riders clash

Persistent rain interrupted a tense run-chase in Port of Spain, handing Jamaica Kingsmen a seven-run victory (DLS method) over Trinbago Knight Riders and moving them up to second place on the CPL 2026 points table.

Strong Opening Foundation: Sent in to bat, TKR raced to a 101-run opening stand behind fast-paced half-centuries from Sunil Narine (53 off 24) and Colin Munro (52 off 37).

Lawes' Wicket Maiden: Player of the Match Vitel Lawes turned the momentum in the 14th over with a brilliant triple-wicket maiden, removing Munro, Kieron Pollard, and Matthew Tromp. Late hitting from Nicholas Pooran (60*) helped TKR post 180/6.

Controlled Kingsmen Chase: Kingsmen responded solidly with top-order contributions from Keacy Carty (42) and Kirk McKenzie (30) to stay within striking distance of the required rate. Carty and Ayub had the chase in control again, hitting a boundary in each over from the 11th to the 14th. Kingsmen were still relatively comfortable despite the loss of Carty, bowled by Tariq, when the rain appeared out of nowhere, the covers came back on, and the players scurried off the field, this time not to return.
