Kings' rise unstoppable as Forde bags five and Kamil Pooran smashes 81_

St Lucia Kings surged to the top of the CPL 2026 points table after securing a comfortable six-wicket victory over Jamaica Kingsmen with 10 balls to spare at Gros Islet.

Forde's Five-Wicket Haul: Matthew Forde blew through the Kingsmen top order during the Powerplay, dismissing Saim Ayub, Usman Khan (28), Rovman Powell (0), and Hassan Khan to leave Kingsmen reeling at 71/6. He returned in the final over to claim Keacy Carty and finish with figures of 5 for 23.

Kingsmen Lower-Order Fightback: Carty anchored the innings with 50 off 42 balls, combining with Andre Russell (25 off 15) and Odean Smith (27 off 17) to propel Jamaica Kingsmen to 169/9.

Pooran's Match-Winning Knock: In response, Kamil Pooran spearheaded the Kings' chase with an unbeaten 81 off 49 balls. He shifted the momentum during the eighth over with a series of boundary strikes that brought the required rate well under control.

Pienaar's Finishing Blitz: After Hunain Shah and Vitel Lawes picked up quick wickets, Obus Pienaar smashed a rapid 34* off just 14 balls to partner Pooran and complete the chase at 171/4 in 18.2 overs.

Kingsmen Lower-Order Stand: Odean Smith (27 off 17) struck three sixes in a 53-run partnership off 34 balls with Keacy Carty. Carty brought up his half-century (50 off 42) before falling to Matthew Forde in the final over, completing Forde's five-wicket haul as Kingsmen reached 169/9.

Steady Powerplay: In reply, Tim Seifert was caught off Hunain Shah early on, but Kamil Pooran and John Campbell stabilized the chase to reach 39/1 at the end of the Powerplay. Mid-Innings Onslaught: Pooran and Campbell sparked the chase at the end of the eighth over, putting together a 6, 6, 6, 4 boundary streak that drastically pulled down the required run rate.

Pienaar & Pooran Seal the Win: Despite Vitel Lawes striking twice in his opening over and Hunain cleaning up skipper Roston Chase with a yorker, Obus Pienaar smashed an unbeaten 34 off 14 balls alongside Pooran (81*) to wrap up the six-wicket win with 10 balls to spare.

St Lucia Kings 171 for 4 (Pooran 81*, Pienaar 34*, Lades 2-22, Hunain 2-34) beat Jamaica Kingsmen 169 for 9 (Carty 50, Forde 5-23) by six wickets
