Jan Frylinck, Steenkamp set up Namibia's win against Scotland

At the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, Namibia defeated Scotland in a high-scoring warm-up match to prepare for the 2026 T20 World Cup. Jan Frylinck and Louren Steenkamp's 137-run partnership off just 71 balls set the stage for the victory. Namibia went 226 for 4 with half-centuries from both of its batters. Following Namibia's bowlers' intervention, Scotland, led by Brandon McMullen's 39-ball 95, threatened to chase down the target at 220 for 5. JJ Smit bowled Scotland captain Richie Berrington's second ball and gave up just five runs to secure Namibia's victory, which came down to Scotland needing 12 runs off the final over. In the powerplay, Scotland scored 66 runs in six innings, including the loss of Michael Jones. Before McMullen and Berrington took charge of the chase, Mark Watt hit 33 out of 23 balls. Tom Bruce, a former New Zealand international, made a cameo with 20 off 14 balls, but it was insufficient for Scotland to surpass their goal. After deciding to bat, Namibia got off to a great start thanks to Frylinck and Steenkamp, who each hit 24 boundaries. Captain Erasmus (33*), Smit (22) and Ruben Trumpelmann (25) helped put the finishing touches on the innings even though both batters fell in consecutive overs.
