India to Host Afghanistan for One-Off Test and Three ODIs in June

India is set to host Afghanistan for a one-off Test match and a three-match ODI series in June 2026. The Test match will be played at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh from June 6 to 10, starting at 9:30 AM IST. This will be the first Test match hosted at this venue. The ODI series will begin on June 14 in Dharamshala, followed by matches in Lucknow on June 17 and Chennai on June 20, all starting at 1:30 PM IST. This series marks Afghanistan's return to India for a bilateral red-ball fixture and provides both teams with crucial preparation time ahead of a packed international calendar.India and Afghanistan are gearing up for their first-ever bilateral ODI series, which is set to take place in June 2026. The teams have previously faced each other in ODIs only at the Asia Cup and the World Cup. Their last encounter was at the T20 World Cup in 2024, during a Super Eights game. While it will be India's first assignment after the ongoing T20 World Cup, Afghanistan will be hosting Sri Lanka for three T20Is and ODIs each in the UAE just after the World Cup ends. The series against Afghanistan will lead into a busy period for India who are also scheduled to tour England for five T20Is and three ODIs from July 1-19. The series will comprise one Test match and three ODIs, with the Test match scheduled to be played at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh from June 6 to 10, 2026. The ODI matches will be held in Dharamshala, Lucknow, and Chennai on June 14, 17, and 20, respectively.
