India get new fielding coach: Subhadeep Ghosh replaces T Dilip

Subhadeep Ghosh has replaced T Dilip as the fielding coach for the India Men's national cricket team. His first assignment will be India's upcoming two-Test tour of Sri Lanka. New Appointment: Ghosh, 57, steps into the role ahead of the Sri Lanka Test series, taking over after T Dilip's contract ended without an extension. Coaching Background: Previously served as the fielding coach for India Women for two years, including the 2022 Women's ODI World Cup and the 2023 Women's T20 World Cup. Held coaching roles with India A and as head coach for Assam's senior men's team. Playing Career: Represented Assam and Railways in domestic cricket as a right-hand batter, playing 17 first-class and 17 List A matches. Coaching Staff Changes: T Dilip originally coached India Men from 2021 through the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, returning for a one-year stint during the 2025 Test tour of the UK. Assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate also recently departed the setup following the white-ball series in England to join KKR as head of cricket strategy. Dilip was India men's fielding coach from 2021 to the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He then returned again during India's Test tour of the UK in 2025 for a one-year stint. He was not given an extension after his contract ended. Upcoming Schedule: Three-Day Practice Match: Starts August 7 in Colombo. 1st Test: Begins August 15 in Galle. 2nd Test: Begins August 23 at the SSC in Colombo.
