Henry’s Heroics Hand West Indies Series-Opening Win Over Pakistan

West Indies Women beat Pakistan Women by 25 runs at Castle Avenue, Dublin. West Indies: 199/6 in 20 overs. Pakistan: 174/8 in 20 overs. This was West Indies’ 2nd win in 2 games after beating Ireland the day before. Opting to bat, West Indies got off to a solid start in the powerplay with Hayley Matthews taking charge. After she hit three fours off Diana Baig in the second over, Matthews took Fatima Sana on for five fours in the third. But Baig came back to dismiss her in the fifth over for a 20-ball 40. Pakistan then made inroads by removing Deandra Dottin and Qiana Joseph in back-to-back overs. Bottom line: Chinelle Henry’s 33_ off 17 and 2/13 with early wickets derailed Pakistan’s chase after West Indies posted 199/6, sealing a 25-run win and 2-0 start in the Dublin tri-series. West Indies used as many as eight bowlers on the day, with Henry and Hector returning two wickets each. West Indies are in the lead in the tri-series points table, having beaten Ireland in the opening match on Thursday.
