Hardik Pandya Back in IPL Trade Talks as Franchises Show Renewed Interest

Renewed Interest: Multiple IPL franchises have made fresh inquiries to Mumbai Indians (MI) regarding a potential trade for premier all-rounder Hardik Pandya, though no formal trade has been finalized yet.

Potential Destinations: Discussions have taken place with franchises including Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, a move to CSK appears less likely due to past dynamics between Pandya and Zaheer Khan.

Key Considerations: Interested teams are weighing Pandya’s leadership experience and match-winning capabilities against his ongoing fitness and injury concerns, which recently ruled him out of India A’s squad.

Key Timelines: With the pre-auction retention deadline set for November 15, concrete developments are expected over the next 3 to 4 weeks, as both MI and interested buyers look to settle their rosters ahead of the auction.

It is learnt that something more concrete could take shape over the next three to four weeks. The trading window is currently open. It will close one week before the auction, reopen a week after the auction and remain open until one month before the start of the season. It is unlikely that the process will take that long, although Mumbai Indians sources maintain that they are not in a hurry.
