Gloucestershire signs R Sai Kishore for six-match deal
Sai Kishore, a left-arm spinner, has signed with Gloucestershire to play in the final six matches of the 2026 County Championship season. Beginning on August 20, the 29-year-old will be available for Gloucestershire's Championship match against Worcestershire at Cheltenham. Following that, the team will play at home against Durham, Lancashire, and Kent, as well as Derbyshire and Middlesex.
According to Sai Kishore, one of the primary reasons for the move was the chance to experience English conditions once more. "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Jon and everyone at Gloucestershire for providing me with this opportunity. The opportunity to play cricket at Gloucestershire, a club with a long history and excellent infrastructure, is extremely exciting.
"After speaking with the management, I knew this was the right fit for me to test my English skills. I'm looking forward to wearing the jersey, meeting the fans at Bristol and Cheltenham, and doing my part."
The Tamil Nadu spinner's experience, according to Gloucestershire coach Jon Lewis, will help the team in the final stages of the season. "We are ecstatic to welcome Sai Kishore to the team. He is a proven, seasoned cricketer who will significantly enhance our team. The Club is fully committed to playing better cricket in the remaining six County Championship matches. It will be fascinating to see how an international spinner can affect the team at this point in the season.
Lewis added, "We're hopeful Sai can make a significant contribution and have a really positive impact on the team." "The conditions at this time of year are often very conducive to spin bowling."
In 54 first-class matches for Tamil Nadu, Sai Kishore has taken 223 wickets, including 14 five-wicket hauls and 11 four-wicket hauls.
In 2025, he played for Surrey in the County Championship, where he got his first five-wicket haul in the competition in an away win over Durham.
