Eathan Bosch Out, Wiaan Mulder In for South Africa's NZ T20I Series
South Africa's Eathan Bosch has been ruled out of the T20I series against New Zealand due to injury. Wiaan Mulder has been named as his replacement.
South Africa's Eathan Bosch has been ruled out of the upcoming five-match T20I series in New Zealand due to a hamstring injury. Wiaan Mulder has been named as his replacement in the 15-man squad, led by Keshav Maharaj. Mulder, who has 11 T20I caps, brings valuable experience to the team, having last played in the format against Ireland in September 2024.
Keshav Maharaj will lead in the T20I series that will be played in Mount Maunganui (March 15), Hamilton (March 17), Auckland (March 20), Wellington (March 22) and Christchurch (March 25). They will all act as double-headers as the men's T20Is will follow the women's T20Is on the same grounds earlier in the day.
South Africa's cricket team is gearing up for the T20I series against New Zealand, with team members traveling to the country in phases. Those currently in South Africa will depart on March 8, while the rest of the squad and management will fly directly from Kolkata, where they've been stuck due to West Asia airspace closures following military conflicts. They're traveling on ICC-arranged charter planes, accompanied by England and West Indies teams.
The series is set to begin on March 15 in Mount Maunganui, with matches scheduled in Hamilton, Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. This tour is seen as an opportunity for South Africa to test their depth, with several uncapped players in the squad.
