Dunkley star as Trent secure tight win against Sunrisers Leeds

Trent Rockets held off a late charge from Annabel Sutherland to register a five-run win over Sunrisers Leeds at Trent Bridge, strengthening their position in second place on the Women's Hundred points table. Despite Sutherland's unbeaten 59 off 30 deliveries, Rockets held Sunrisers to 134 for 5 while defending 139 for 7. Ash Gardner struck with the first ball of the chase before Georgia Adams and Charley Phillips removed Jess Jonassen and Phoebe Litchfield respectively. Gardner's tidy penultimate set and Kim Garth's final five balls then ensured the visitors fell short. Earlier, Sophia Dunkley and Nat Sciver-Brunt had provided the foundation for Rockets after Beth Mooney's early dismissal. Dunkley followed up her fifty in the previous match with another polished 56, sharing a brisk 76-run stand with Sciver-Brunt, who made 33, to put Rockets in control. Although Jess Jonassen and Hannah Baker triggered a middle-order collapse, Bess Heath's late boundaries helped Rockets recover enough to post what ultimately proved to be a winning total.
