Ahmedabad to host IPL 2026 final on May 31
Matches for the IPL 2026 playoffs will take place in Dharamshala, New Chandigarh (Mullanpur), and Ahmedabad, according to the schedule. The BCCI has stated that the Playoffs will be held in three venues "as a special case" because of certain operational and logistical considerations.
The top two teams from the group stage of the points table will compete in Qualifier 1 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. The winner will automatically advance to the final.
The third and fourth-ranked teams will compete in the Eliminator in New Chandigarh. The winner of the Eliminator and the loser of Qualifier 1 will compete in Qualifier 2 at the same location.
The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the final.
"The Final was initially scheduled to be held in Bengaluru. However, "the venue has been shifted and reassigned due to certain requirements from the local association and authorities that were beyond the scope of the BCCI's established guidelines and protocols," the BCCI confirmed in a statement.
New Chandigarh hosted Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator last season, while Ahmedabad hosted Qualifier 2 and the championship game. This season's final league game will be on May 24, two days before Qualifier 1.
