Rajasthan Royals bowed out of IPL 2025 with a whimper, crashing to a heavy defeat against Mumbai Indians on Thursday night. The five-time champions dominated from start to finish, piling up a mammoth 217/2 after being put in to bat. Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton notched up half-centuries, while Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav each finished unbeaten on 48, maintaining the momentum through the innings. The Royals' response was dismal, collapsing early with five wickets lost inside the powerplay. Their pursuit never gained traction. Jasprit Bumrah struck twice with the new ball, while Trent Boult and Karn Sharma each claimed three wickets to seal a crushing 100-run victory for Mumbai. With this defeat, RR’s slim hopes of making the playoffs were officially extinguished.
